About Ernst Schipper

I help organizations turn culture into a strategic advantage by aligning strategy, structure, and behavior so performance follows naturally.

For more than 20 years, I have worked at the intersection of employer branding and organizational culture. What started with employer brand projects evolved into something broader: helping leadership teams understand how culture actually shapes execution. Not as values on a wall, but as the system that determines how decisions are made, how teams collaborate, and how strategy translates into everyday behavior.

In 2009, I founded Dandelion Strategies, a boutique consultancy focused on deliberately connecting culture and strategy. Since then, I have worked across more than 20 countries in Europe, Asia, and North America, partnering with organizations including Booking.com, Philips, BCG, Backbase, bol, GetYourGuide, Postcode Lottery Group, FrieslandCampina, and Fugro.

I work with organizations where leaders have agreed on the direction, but the organization has not yet moved. My approach is pragmatic and system based. Rather than launching programs or writing reports, I focus on the underlying mechanisms that drive results: decision rights, incentives, collaboration, and leadership signals. When those align, culture becomes a driver of performance instead of a barrier to it.

Clients typically engage me to lead EVP and employer brand strategies, culture transformations, or to act as a strategic partner during periods of change. My role ranges from advisor to embedded lead, depending on what the situation requires.

Outside of work, I live in Amsterdam and stay curious about culture, design, and technology. I enjoy small creative projects, like making my own limoncello. That same curiosity shapes how I listen, think, and work with teams around the world.

Interested in exploring how culture can strengthen your strategy and execution? I’d be happy to connect.
